One on One Support

Youth Navigators identify strengths and provide connection to community supports. Areas of community support include: employment, housing, health and well-being, education and pro-social, cultural and recreation opportunities. To work with a Youth Navigator a referral can be made to the Youth Inclusion Program; referrals can be submitted by family members, teachers, community agencies, or youth themselves.

Navigators can support a youth in their personal development and goals, support leadership development, advocacy, community connections and opportunities. They work to address gaps in services and break down barriers in participation. Navigators are mobile and can provide accompaniment to appointments and or assist with transportation when required.

Referrals can be made from any neighbourhood within the City of Thunder Bay.

To make a referral download and complete our Youth Inclusion Participants Referral Form and email it to:  youthinclusion@thunderbay.com

Youth Navigators

Once a trusting relationship is established, our Youth Navigator works with each youth to identify their strengths and develop Case Management Goals. These goals are individualized personal development goals; related to employment, housing, well-being, education, skill and leadership development, mental health and pro-social cultural and recreation opportunities, and so on.

Group Programming

The Youth Inclusion Program offers neighbourhood based drop in programming for ages 12 to 24. Group programming is based on consultation from young people within each neighbourhood and can include anything from life skills, art, recreation activities, to community outings.
